The Linksys Range Extender (both RE6250 and RE6350) supports all Wi-Fi routers. There’s no need to modify the current router’s settings when installing these Linksys Wi-Fi range extender and you won’t have to interfere with your router at all.
RE6250 is IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standard range extender with frequency Band of
2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz and has Wireless Data Rates up to 1.75Gbps. Whereas RE6350 is IEEE 802.11ac, IEEE 802.11a/b/g/n standardized extender with Frequency Band of 2.4 GHz/5.0 GHz and Wireless Data Rates up to 1.2Gbps.
Access Control on extender Linksys setup com enables to prevent or approve wireless devices to connect to the Linksys RE6250 AC750 Wi-Fi Range Extender and Linksys RE6350 AC1200 Wi-Fi Range Extender networks.
Configure the Access Control feature of your range extender:
- Access your range extender’s web-based setup page on extender Linksys setup com.
- Under Wireless network, click on Access Control.
- You may now configure the Access Control feature of your range extender.
- Allow – Only devices on the Access Control List will have access to the wireless network.
- Deny – Devices listed in the Access Control List will not have access to the wireless network.
- Add a Device:
To allow or restrict a wireless device to connect to the range extender, you can either select a Wireless Client or enter a MAC Address.
Wireless Client – Displays computers and other devices currently on the wireless network. Select a client from the drop-down menu and then Save it.Manually enter a MAC Address and click Save. After selecting a Wireless Client or entering a MAC Address, make sure to click Save next to the field before clicking the Save button.
Access Control List:
Displays all the MAC Addresses that you have added.
Click Edit to update the MAC Address of the client. The edited MAC Address will display in the MAC Address field. If you want to exclude a MAC Address item from the list, then click on Remove.
- Click Save to apply the changes.
If you set up MAC Address Filtering on your range extender, you must also set up MAC Filtering on your existing wireless router. Otherwise, you are only allowing or preventing clients to connect to the range extender. Configuring the MAC Filtering on the primary wireless router, access point or another extender in your network is necessary to allow or prevent clients from connecting to the network entirely.
And thus you can setup access controls on extender Linksys setup com for both Linksys RE6250 and RE6350 wifi range extenders.
