Before moving forward, you should know few things. The settings of the base station and the wireless repeater should be same. Make sure that you know the remote unit MAC address. The wireless security option should be kept as ‘None’. And the mode and the SSID should also be same. Now we will start the process for the setup of the base station.
Step 1 – routerlogin.net
First of all, you will need to open the internet browser either on your computer system or the tablet. Or to any of the wireless device which is in connection with the network.
Step 2 –
Now after opening the internet browser, in the address bar enter this web address – http://www.routerlogin.net. If in case you are unable to open the routerlogin.net page, or if it is not working then you can open any of these other links given below:
Step 3 –
Once you open the routerlogin.net page, you will have to enter the username and the password in the blank. Here, you have to enter the default login username and password. Make sure that you enter the correct username and password as both of them are case sensitive. Here are the default username and password which you need to enter –
In case, if you get a prompt that your username or password is incorrect. Or you are unable to login the routerlogin.net page using the default username and password, it means you have already changed it. If you remember the password, just try login using it. And if you don’t, then you have to do the factory reset setting for restoring the default settings and password for the router.
Step 4 –
If you are able to successfully login the routerlogin.net page, now you have to click on the ADVANCED TAB. In the ADVANCED TAB, click on the ADVANCED SETUP. Once the ADVANCED SETUP TAB is open, click on the Wireless Repeating Tab.
Step 5 –
When the Wireless Repeating Tab will appear you will see there a checkbox option of ‘Enable Wireless Repeating Function’. You have to select the checkbox of Enable Wireless Repeating Function option. routerlogin.net
Step 6 –
Now in this step, you will see another option of Wireless Base Station on the same page. Select the Wireless Base Station Option.
Step 7 –
Under the Wireless Base Station Option, you will see the option of Disable Wireless Client Association. You need to stop the association of the wireless clients with the base station. And for doing that, you have to allow only the LAN Client Associations. So you need to select the checkbox option of Disable Wireless Client Association.
In case if you want the wireless clients to get associated with the base station, then in that case just leave the Disable Wireless Client Association check box cleared.
Step 8 –
Now on the same page, you will see the Repeater MAC Address 1, 2, 3, and 4 fields. You have to now fill the MAC addresses for all the access points. These access points will then work as repeaters.
If your base station is your router, then it can work as the parent. And it can work for maximum four other access points.
Step 9 –
Once you are done with all these settings, just click on the Apply Tab. routerlogin.net
