First of all, we need to perform the Backup configuration by using the Backup feature. Below you can read the complete steps.

Step 1 for Backup Configuration – 192.168.1.1 linksys

First of all, you need to open a web browser on your computer system or laptop. Then you have to open this link – 192.168.1.1 linksys router’s address and open it. There you have to enter your router password for logging in to your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account. If you have not reset the password, then enter the default password which is ‘admin’. If you have changed the password, enter the new one and then Log in.

Step 2 for Backup Configuration –

When the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account will open, you will see the option of Router Settings on the Navigation Pane. Under the Router Settings, you will see Troubleshooting option, click on it to open it.

Step 3 for Backup Configuration – 192.168.1.1 linksys

Now under the Troubleshooting tab, you will see Diagnostics Tab. Click on it.

Step 4 for Backup Configuration –

You will see Router Configuration Tab. Under it, there is the option of Backup. Click on Backup option.

Step 5 for Backup Configuration –

Now you will see a new window of File Download appearing or prompting on your system. It will ask you to save the configuration file with the file extension .cfg. Click on the Save option on the window of File Download. Now another window of Save As will appear just chose the location on your system where you want to save this configuration file. Now after the Backup Configuration Process, we need to perform the Restore Configuration Process. Below are the steps for the Restore Configuration.

Step 1 for Restore Configuration –

You again need to open the web browser on your computer and have to log in to the 192.168.1.1 linksys smart Wi-Fi Account just like you did in the first step of Backup Configuration.

Step 2 for Restore Configuration –

Now you will see the Router Settings option on the Navigation Pane of the Linksys Smart Wi-Fi Account. There is an option of Troubleshooting under the Router Settings, click on it.

Step 3 for Restore Configuration –

You will now have to click on the Diagnostics Tab under the Troubleshooting tab.

Step 4 for Restore Configuration – 192.168.1.1 linksys

Under the Router Configuration tab, you will see Restore Option, click on it.

For restoring the configuration file, a new window will open for selecting the configuration file. Click on Choose File option to find the file and then open it.

Now Restore Router Configuration window will appear. Click on the Start to Restore option.

A popup box named Important will appear, click on Yes option.

Step 8 for Restore Configuration –

Now a Router Reboot popup box will appear. Click on OK.
